Schoolcraft businesses join together to collect food donations for local children.
For the 4 th consecutive year, J. Rettenmaier USA (JRS USA), On Purpose Branding and Dave Rice Group have joined together to collect donations for the Schoolcraft Friday Pack program. The goal is always to collect more than the year before, and 2020 was no exception. Kathy Wilson, HR Administrative Assistant for JRS USA, coordinates the collection and said, “I thoroughly enjoy heading up this project because it is so gratifying. With all the craziness of 2020, it is an amazing feeling to be a part of a community that works so hard to take care of its children. I enjoy helping others and this is an excellent opportunity to become more involved. We are so thankful that On Purpose Branding and Dave Rice Group joined us again in this collection. Together, we’d like to encourage our entire community to donate to Schoolcraft Friday Pack.” In addition to the food items donated, JRS and employees donated over $4,500 to help supplement any additional items needed to fill the packs.
Started over 10 years ago, the Schoolcraft Friday Pack program has been providing students in need with food to eat over the weekends. The packs are filled and placed in the lockers Friday morning before school starts. The need for the program continues to grow but with donations from the community the Friday Pack is confident in its ability to continue to provide students in need with nutritious meals. If you are interested in learning more about this program or would like to donate, call the Schoolcraft Eagle’s Nest at 269-488-5847 or email firstname.lastname@example.org . All monetary and non-perishable food donations are welcome.
