Quality Control Laboratory Technician I

Fosston, MN

Job Responsibilities
  • Assure proper operation of laboratory equipment.
  • Provides timely and accurate QC Laboratory test results.
  • Assist with documenting (manual & electronic) test results and associated laboratory functions.
  • Laboratory assistants may have certifications or two year degrees with no lab experience. Laboratory assistants, as the role suggests, assists Lab Tech in the daily operation of lab duties. Helping clean and maintain the laboratory's equipment and facilities is often part of the job. Laboratory assistants might also be assigned to administrative duties, filing and other computer-centered tasks or other tasks as assigned.
Minimum Job Requirements, Skills and Qualifications
  • High School Diploma required.
  • Familiar with analytical/scientific software.
  • Certification or Associates degree in Microbiology, Chemistry, Food Science or related field preferred.
  • Basic lab knowledge. i.e. equipment function/familiarity.
  • 0-1 Year experience in similar environment favored.
  • Quality Analysis.
  • Ability to work while supervised.
  • Good Communication Skills.
  • Detail oriented, objectivity and accurate.
  • Organized and motivated.
  • Able to learn computer based skills.
  • Timely.
  • Able to perform basic math calculations.
Interactions and Tools/Equipment Utilized in the Job
  • Interacts with all internal departments on a regular basis (telephone, e-mail, fax, mail, summary reports).
  • Utilizes standard office equipment and computer workstation.
Physical Requirements
  • The job requires sitting, standing, walking and climbing in a laboratory and production environment. 
  • Typing and viewing computer screen, occasionally for extended periods of time. 
  • Some lifting (50 lbs. or less) is also occasionally required.

  • All rules and regulations of the Employee Handbook apply at all times
  • Standard working hours: 7:00 am – 4:00 pm, Monday – Friday. Adjustments as needed.
