QMS Manager

Schoolcraft, MI

Primary Function

Maintain/Develop process for maintaining, and ensuring consistent application of standards.

Develop/implement/administer training modules as need to support the QMS.

Researches/assess site risks, then use technical expertise/knowledge delivering compliance guidance to leadership.

Owner of QMS and its compliance for the JRS USA Food network.

Job Responsibilities and Duties
  • Work cross-functionally to complete investigations, RCAs, corrective actions, and other problem solving as needed.
  • Manages QMS Internal Audit program and conducts plant internal audits as prescribed by corporate policy.
  • Acts as Food Safety (HACCP) and Food Defense Team Coordinator (Certification required).
  •  Communicates with the Plant leadership related to audit results, opportunities and risks.
  • Helps to maintain Food Safety Plan (HACCP) and Food Defense plan at production sites.
  • Conducts departmental trainings and evaluates training effectiveness periodically.
  • Work with sites to implement and maintain standardization for policy/procedures.
  • Provide detail and assist with facilitation of audit prep action item registers.
  • Assists in facilitating all first, second and third party (Regulatory) audits.
  • Support customer complaint investigations as needed.
  • Manage up to 3-5 projects simultaneously as needed.
  • Stays current on industry QMS standards.
  • Degree in Microbiology, Food Science or related field.
  • Minimum 3 years’ managerial experience.
  • Quality experience and Food Defense Coordinator Certification.
  • GFSI, PCQI and HACCP certified.
  • Internal auditing Certification/Training.
  • Sanitation Hygienic Training.
  • Waterworks System Operator D-5 Certification preferred.
  • SQF, BRC and ISO standard experience preferred.
Other Information
  • All rules and regulations of the Employee Handbook apply at all times.
  • Standard work hours: 8:00 am - 5:00 pm, Monday - Friday. 
  • Travel is estimated between 35-45%.
  • Eligible for In-2-Win Performance Bonus Program.
