Production Technician
Portage, MI
Job Responsibilities
- Maintain a clean work area.
- Comply with all safety rules.
- Unload and store raw material.
- Issue Lot Numbers for incoming DLK and perform required testing and record keeping.
- Prepare and feed raw material into the production process.
- Monitor raw material quality and blending.
- Store finished goods.
- Pull pending orders for shipment.
- Load outbound shipments.
- Support packaging area.
Duties
- Sweep up scrap paper in Pre-Grind area and push piles onto conveyor.
- Drive forklifts to unload raw material and load outbound shipments of finished goods.
- Ensure outbound loads are correct materials and Lots.
- Prepare raw material for consumption; Inspect and stage paper bales, cut and remove banding/packaging by hand.
- Recycle material; lift, open and load 40-50 pounds bags or shovel pellets onto conveyor.
- Maintain a constant flow of raw material to the Impact Grinder and Bale Conveyor for production.
- Packaging of finished product; lifting and stacking of 40-50 pound bags.
- Palletizing of finished material.
- Warehouse finished pallets, ensuring correct labeling and packaging material is used.
- Assist Shift Lead in direction workflow on production floor.
- Other Duties as assigned.
Minimum Job Requirements, Skills and Qualifications
- High School diploma.
- Close attention to detail.
- Good verbal and written communications
Certifications/Licenses
Forklift and Powered Industrial Vehicle Operation (onsite training.)
Interactions and Tools/Equipment Utilized in the Job
- Hand tools such as brooms, wire cutters, shovels, wrenches.
- Industrial grinding equipment, conveyors, dock locks, wheel chocks, trailer jack stands.
- Change screens and valves in production lines.
Physical Requirements
Able to lift and stack 50 pounds continuously for long periods. Climb ladders and stairs. Cut and pull heavy
baling wires. Push broom and shovel
debris.
Other Information
- 8 hour shift
- All rules and regulations of the Employee Handbook apply at all times.
- Standard working hours: 8 hour shift, Monday – Friday. Overtime as needed.
- On-call duty required on rotation (including weekends and Holidays).
