Production Operator

Job Responsibilities
  • Keep mill in operation while maintaining quality, moisture, and housekeeping standards.
  • Complete and verify production reporting documentation.
  • Check cutter screens as required.
  • Check grinder screens every 10 bags or every bulk bag.
  • Monitor amps on cutters.
  • Complete magnet check sheets and clean magnets (specific job description has requirements).
  • Complete all checks as required: chiller, mill specific, dust collectors, monitor cutter temperatures.
  • Collect quality samples every 10 bags or every bulk bag.
  • Follow all quality systems directives, such as lot traceability and hold process.
  • Follow the Mill Order for packaging requirements and other special instructions.
  • Complete Critical Items Inspection Checklist every shift.
  • Perform other related duties and assignments as directed by Plant Supervision.

  • Responsibility of filling bags to proper weight, clearly stamping/labelling bags, placing bags on pallet, and preparing bags for shipment.
  • Ensure work areas are clean and neat at the beginning, during and after completion of each shift.
  • Operation of a forklift is required to move necessary raw materials (pallets, bales, cellulose rolls, proper bags, etc.) and to transfer finished product into the staging area.
  • Completes and verifies production reports.
Minimum Job Requirements, Skills, Qualifications, Certifications and Licenses
  • High School Diploma or equivalent and ability to read and write.
  • Experience working in a manufacturing environment is preferred.
Interactions and Tools/Equipment Utilized in the Job
  • Requires the use of a respiratory mask, hearing protection, safety shoes and gloves.
  • Perform Lock-Out/Tag-Out and Confined Spaces responsibilities.
  • Complete a forklift inspection sheet on each shift before operating a forklift.
  • Exercise caution when moving/loading rolls and bales that weigh up to 1,500 lbs.
  • Responsible for maintaining a clean work area with minimal dust accumulation.
  • Report any unsafe condition, concern, or incident to a Supervisor.
Physical Requirements
  • Ability to perform heavy manual labor, including continuous lifting of up to 50 lbs.
  • Ability to comfortably reach up above shoulders in order to build pallets.
  • Must be able to work from heights with the assistance of proper safety equipment.
  • Ability to work comfortably in varying degrees of temperature.
  • Ability to climb stairs and ladders to perform job.
Other Information

Hiring for several open positions. There are 12-hour Day and Night shifts and 8-hour 1st, 2nd, and 3rd shifts.
