Mill Operator

Urbana, OH

Job Responsibilities
  • Communicate with bagger/blender operator on each order, dump times, specs, etc.
  • Responsible for keeping the mill in operation while maintaining quality, moisture, and housekeeping standards.
  • Responsible for completing and verifying production reports.
  • Responsible for completing forklift inspection sheet on each shift before use (if using a forklift).
  • Responsible for maintaining a clean work area with minimal dust accumulation.
Duties
  • Complete and verify production reporting documentation.
  • Check cutter screens as required.
  • Check pulverizer screens.
  • Monitor amps on cutters.
  • Complete magnet check sheets and clean magnets.
  • Complete all critical checks as required: chiller, mill specific, dust collectors, monitor cutter temperatures.
  • Collect quality samples every 10 bags or every bulk bag.
  • Follow all quality systems directives, such as lot traceability and hold process.
  • Follow mill order for packaging requirements and other special instructions.
  • Perform other related duties and assignments as directed by Plant Supervisor.
  • Alpine un-milled material out of each hopper throughout shift.

Minimum Job Requirements, Skills and Qualifications
  • High School diploma.
  • This position requires the use of a respiratory mask, hearing protection, safety shoes and gloves.
  • This position has Lock-Out/Tag-Out and confined space responsibilities.
  • Must be able to work from heights with the assistance of proper safety equipment.
Certifications/Licenses
  • Valid US Driver’s License.
  • Forklift Certification.
Interactions and Tools/Equipment Utilized in the Job
  • Read tape measures and industrial scales.
  • Hand tools such as brooms, wire cutters, shovels.
  • Industrial grinding equipment, conveyors, augers.
  • This job area has lock out/tag out and confined space requirements.
  • This job requires the use of a protective mask, hearing protection safety shoes and gloves.
Physical Requirements
  • Must be able to work from heights with the assistance of proper safety equipment.
  • The employee is often times standing for up to 3 hours at a time.
  • The employee must frequently lift and/or move up to 55 lbs. and occasionally lift and/or move up to 60 lbs.
  • Must be able to climb stairs to perform job functions.
  • Must be able to work in diverse temperatures.
  • Positions requires the use of required personal protection equipment.

  • All rules and regulations of the Employee Handbook apply at all times.
  • Hiring for 8-hour 2nd and 3rd shifts and 12-hour Day and Night shifts.
  • Eligible for In-2-Win Performance Bonus Program.
  • Hiring for 2nd shift and 3rd shift.
