Maintenance Technician

Urbana, OH

Job Responsibilities
  • Read and interpret equipment manuals and work orders to perform required maintenance service.
  • Change and sharpen cutter knives, repair and replace cutter screens as necessary.
  • Ability to replace or repair parts, test equipment and make adjustments as necessary.
  • Use a variety of hand and power tools, electric meters and material handling equipment.
  • Demonstrates knowledge in de-energizing machinery.
  • Perform other related duties and assignments as directed by plant supervision.
Minimum Requirements, Skills, Qualifications, Certifications and Licenses
  • Requires skills including but not limited to, mechanical, electrical, pneumatic, hydraulic and PLC.
  • High School Diploma or equivalent, or previous work experience, some vocational schooling.
  • Strong ability to troubleshoot and diagnose problems.
Physical Requirements
  • Ability to perform heavy manual labor, to include lifting up to 55 lbs.
  • Must be able to work from heights with the assistance of proper safety equipment.
  • Ability to work in all temperatures.
Safety Awareness
  • Position requires the use of Arc Flash PPE, hearing protection, safety shoes, gloves and other PPE.
  • This work area has Lock-Out/Tag-Out and Confined Space requirements.
  • This position will encounter potential Arc Flash risk, PPE must be utilized when required.
  • Perform inspection of recently maintained equipment when task is complete (account for all tools).
  • Complete forklift inspection sheets daily.
  • Communicate any unsafe condition or concern immediately to your supervisor.
