Bran Room Process Worker

Cambridge, MN

Job Responsibilities
  • Coordinates the receivable dry processed material through the bran room process.
  • Ensures the safety of goods coming through the process to the packaging area and meeting the criteria for the product specification.
  • Ensures the flow of materials and sampling are completed and are dispatched on time to the appropriate destinations.
  • Adjusts the process as needed.
  • Coordinates all shipping/receiving activities, ensuring all shipping/receiving materials are correct
  • Familiar with field concepts, practices and procedures.
  • Assist in training where needed.
  • Continuous improvement of knowledge of bran room production.
  • Follows all plant safety rules.
  • Reports all accidents to the Production Supervisor or Management team.
  • Serves an active role in the plant safety program by attending safety meetings, participating in safety inspections and reporting any potential safety hazards to the safety committee or management team.
  • Adheres to all Quality Assurance System guidelines.
  • Follows SOP’s to insure the manufacturing of high quality bran and germ products.
  • Responsible for compliance with the HACCP program.
  • Identifies all critical control points understanding their functions it relates to bran room production.
  • Accurately prepares and maintains documentation.
  • Maintain a clean and organized work area.
  • Cooperates with others in housekeeping endeavor.
  • Continuous improvement initiatives throughout the facility.
  • Promotes and contributes to the development of teamwork.
Minimum Job Requirements, Skills and Qualifications

  • Rework: Blending of approved rework material back into the product stream.
  • Communicates orally/written: Towards improvement of flow of product and finished and raw material goods.
  • Troubleshoot: resolve basic to moderately complex issues.
  • Quality/Food safety: Follow all sampling and equipment verification and their frequency. This may include but not limited to: Screen/filter changes, Magnet checks, rework reprocessed and sanitation.
  • Requires a high school diploma or equivalent.
  • Team player.
  • Basic math skills.
  • Computer skills.
  • Detail orientated.
  • Good communication and interpersonal skills.
  • Experience with Materials handling/packaging equipment.
  • Mechanical and Troubleshooting skills.
  • Food Industry experience and knowledge of GMP, Food safety.
  • Able to lift up to 55 lbs. repetitively and occasionally in excess of 100 lbs.
  • Must be able to tolerate standing for long periods of time.
  • Able to work independently.
  • Maintain a clean and organized work area.
  • Cooperates with others and the management team in housekeeping endeavors.
  • Excellent organizational and time management skills.

  • Certified fork truck operator.
Interactions and Tools/Equipment Utilized in the Job
  • Insures effective communication and teamwork with manufacturing, Quality and Maintenance.
  • Maintains effective communication with the Production Supervisor and support groups.
  • A variety of hand tools are used. Example: box cutters, scrapers, wrenches, screwdrivers, etc.
Physical Requirements
  • Able to lift up to 55 lbs. repetitively and occasionally in excess of 100 lbs.
  • Must be able to tolerate standing for long periods of time.

  • Hiring for 2nd Shift and 3rd Shift.
